Jawatan Kosong JAWI - Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) initially established with the name of the Council Secretariat with a view to smoothen the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (religious council). It was established on February 1, 1974. When the Ministry of Federal Territories (KWP) was established in 1978, the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) was placed under the Ministry. However, in 1987 the Ministry was abolished. Thus, Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) was placed under the administration of the Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) until now.
