Jawatan Kosong MDHT - Majlis Daerah Hulu Terengganu or Hulu Terengganu District Council was established on January 1, 1981 under Section 3 of the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171) (Amendment 1978). Previously it was known as Jumaah Bandaran Ulu Terengganu.The opening of Ulu Terengganu District Council was officiated by the Chief Minister Y.A.B.Dato’ Seri Amar Diraja Dato’ Haji Wan Mokhtar bin Ahmad at Town Hall Kuala Brang on Monday, August 30, 1982. Located about 40 km from the city center of Kuala Terengganu. Covering an area of 53.40 square kilometers and includes three parishes of the Mukim Kuala Berang, Mukim Tanggol dan Mukim Penghulu Diman. On July 18, 1996 a re-created the gazetting of the whole district of Hulu Terengganu is an area of 3,874.63 square kilometers of the Local Authorities (Hulu Terengganu District Council).
